Privacy
The short version: everything you write inside LOAM stays on your own device. The only personal information held anywhere else is the name, email address, organisation and role you give when you sign up for access, and only so you can be told about updates.
Who is responsible
LOAM is made and run by Suman Saurav, an individual based in India. This is a passion project, not a company. For anything on this page, write to suman@commsforacause.org.
What stays on your device and is never sent
Your evidence — stories, numbers, updates, tags, source notes, dates — and your proposals, briefs, gap notes and preferences are stored in your browser's own storage on your machine. They are never uploaded, never backed up by us, and never readable by anyone else. There is no account and no server holding them. If you clear your browser's data for this site, they are gone; export a file or turn on the folder option in your data if you want a copy.
The three connections LOAM makes
- The public funder pack and its changelog, fetched from the LOAM website.
- The typeface, loaded from Google Fonts.
- The small matching model, downloaded once and then kept for offline use.
None of these carry anything you typed. As with any web request, the servers involved see your IP address and browser; we receive nothing from them and add no identifiers.
What the sign-up collects
To get access and the downloadable copy, you give your name, email address, organisation and designation, and you agree to two things separately:
- Monthly app updates — required. This is how you are told about new versions and about changes to the funder pack.
- The monthly funder intelligence email — optional and off unless you tick it. It is sent through a mailing tool, and every message carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately, without signing in.
We store those four fields, the two consent choices, the date, and the wording you agreed to. Nothing else. No tracking pixels, no analytics, no advertising, no profiling, no sale or sharing of your details, and no automated decision-making.
How long it is kept
Your sign-up details are kept while LOAM is running and you still want the updates. Ask and they are deleted; unsubscribing from everything also removes you. The evidence on your device is kept as long as you keep it — that is entirely in your hands.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the UK and EU GDPR you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, withdraw a consent you gave, object to a use, or ask for your details in a portable form. Write to suman@commsforacause.org and it will be dealt with as quickly as one person reasonably can, and within a month.
Where the GDPR applies, the basis for the update email is your consent, and you may complain to your national data protection authority. In India you may raise a grievance with Suman Saurav first and then with the Data Protection Board of India. LOAM is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their details.
Security, honestly
The sign-up list is held in an access-controlled database that only Suman Saurav can read. The app's own data never travels, which removes most of the risk by design. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, you will be told.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, it will be said in the monthly update email rather than quietly. See also terms of use and legal and disclosures.
