KR Foundation

The KR Foundation is a Danish philanthropic foundation established in 2014 that works globally and nationally to address the root causes of climate change and environmental degradation. They focus on driving a rapid, global phase-out of fossil fuels in line with the Paris Agreement. The foundation identifies cultural, social, political, and economic systems as the origins of the crisis. They support interventions targeting fossil fuel finance, the 'influence industry' including PR, lobbying, and advertising, and the transition to a sustainable economic paradigm. Their approach is science-based, collaborative, and flexible, explicitly leaving the promotion of clean energy to other actors.
